Date: September 6, 2025 1:00 pm – 4:00 pm
Location: MST Studio

Learn the basics of stage direction, especially for the small production. Director’s Vision, blocking, scheduling, and expectations for the rehearsal process will each be discussed as well as the duties a Director has outside of the rehearsal space, such as Production Meetings and other “hidden” processes. A conversation about Intimacy and the Director’s role in creating ensemble and a safe open creative environment will be a centerpiece of the class.

The basics of designing sound for local theatre. Learn the fundamentals of taking a page of script to performance ready sound. We will consider not just how to read the script with an “acoustic” eye, but also discuss various software suites that can make your job easier.

For Directors AND Actors, this class introduces the principles of movement and blocking on stage. Actors will learn ways to move on stage which will yield truthful characters, as well as a shortcut to understanding what your director wants. While Directors will come away with skills to understand sight lines, create meaningful stage pictures, and more.
